Grain : Field to Table Panel Discussion

Grain growing, milling, and baking bread are arts as old as human history… but we’re no slouches here in the Pacific Northwest! Our region’s research laboratories, test fields, modern agriculture, and professional milling equipment marry old world practices with present day tools and techniques, to the benefit of both professional and amateur bakers.

Join us to hear a panel of scientists, farmers, millers and bakers share their perspective on our regions remarkable food ecosystem and their roll in bringing grain from the fields to your table.

Featured Panelists : Dierdre Griffin LaHue (WSU), Kevin Murphy (WSU Breadlab), Dave Binczewski (Cairnspring Mills), Dave Hedlin (Hedlin Family Farm) & Mel Darbyshire (Grand Central Bakery). Moderated by Kit Schumann (Sea Wolf Bakers)
